A psychodrama workshop for the creative dedicated to breaking down barriers and igniting the artist within. This workshop is designed for artists, musicians, writers, directors, actors and all entertainment professionals.
Psychodrama is a time tested technique, since 1921, for moving through creative and emotional blocks and increasing self-awareness. As developed by Dr. J.L. Moreno, psychodrama is a therapeutic action method in which participants act out thier personal dramas (past, present, and future), dreams and fantasies. Get to know and transcend the cast of characters operating inside of you through this action oriented self expression.

Jeffrey Yates, LCSW, TEP, is a psychotherapist in private practice in Los Angeles and Director of the Psychodrama Institute of Los Angeles. Since 1994, Jeffrey has been certified as a Trainer, Educator, and Practitioner of psychodrama, sociometry, and group psychotherapy by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy. Jeffrey has been a grant recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. He was also the founding artistic director (1990-1995) of DC Playback Theater in Washington DC.
Jeffrey has been a keynote presenter for many professional conferences including the US Center for Substnce Abuse Prevention and the Psychotherapy Networker, formerly known as the Family Therapy Networker. He has experience as acorporate and management consultant for organizations including The United States Justice Department and the United States Postal Service.
He served as past President of the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy, the organization that certifies practitioners and trainers in the North American region. He is a fellow and former Executive Council member of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama. He has worked as a clinician in both inpatient and outpatient mental health and addiction programs and has conducted workshops for Promises Treatment Center, Sierra Tucson, The Caron Foundation, and the One80 Center. Jeffrey has been a trainer and supervising clinician with the psychodrama section, Saint Elizabeths Hospital (formerly The National Institute of Mental Health), Washington DC (1989-95).
